Unless I've missed it, there seems zero speculation on here and even less enthusiasm for whatever the new iPhone might be....

It used to be the case that these launches were quite hotly anticipated.

I am guessing that as the new one will just be a polished turd, it hasn’t generated as much interest.

I'd say tech wise, they are as advanced as they can be, so only cosmetics, which maybe doesn't inspire too many to change.

I have an XS Max and it is big, but I live on it. It's relatively pocket sized, robust (with a screen protector) and waterproof.

Seriously, what else can be offered?

I tend to agree. Having said that, I thought my iPhone 7 was about as good as a phone could get.... I now have an X. But again, I can't see what advancements, other than being genuinely scragtchproof/shatterproof, a new iPhone could have to tempt me.

I will probably get the 11 because I am an Apple zombie and like the latest iPhone.... but there's little to get me frothing at the mouth! smile

From the rumours it sounds like it’s not going to be a big leap forward.

I’ve got a XR, I wish I’d kept my previous 8, the XR is too big. Hopefully they’ll bring out a new version of the SE then I might get one of those.

When they release one with a fast on-screen fingerprint reader (as well as face recog), USB-C and great battery life then I will trade in my iPhone 8 Plus.

iPhone 11 will not be that phone, but 2020 iPhone just might.

I’m in this camp. I used to get the new one each year, sometimes every two years - but now they are at the stage that I don’t see the point. My XR does everything that I want and does it well!

Same here, I'm running the X from 2 years ago and can't see a reason to change.

They can improve by introducing a respectable battery life, and a proper choice of sizes. They are all too big for me, still on SE.

When you say “used to”, didn’t the XR come out last year?

It needs 5G and won’t have it. It will need to be a game changer to get any sales I’d think, and I can’t see what it can offer over an XR /XS.

Same here. Although I read that the latest IOS won’t be supported on it.
I guess it will be a gradual decline in usefulness...

I’m still on a 6. And I won’t get the next iOS update.
The XR is too big. The XS is very expensive.

Apple are traditionally late for chipset upgrades; they’ll wait until 5G settles before committing.

I’m running an old 6 that is starting to be seriously clunky and the new battery that was replaced a year ago is already lasting less than half a day of heavy use.

I was going to buy the new 11 but by all accounts the real tech advancement will come next year with the 12?

WTF am I supposed to do in the meantime?

I’m just looking forward to them getting rid of the awful names they’ve been using, X, R, S etc.... it’s a phone , not a car line up!

Lost interest in new iPhones. I replaced my seven year old iPhone 4S last year with an iPhone 8 which is more than adequate. The XS is too expensive, the XR is too big. Wake me up again when they make one you can drop without it smashing and has decent battery life. Until then, don't bother me.

I have a 6S, and have been waiting for the compelling reason to upgrade. If they still had a finger print reader I’d probably have upgraded by now... Still waiting, but I might bite the bullet this year anyway as the current phone is getting rather clunky now.

There is that's ongoing
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

But it's the same as this thread pretty much - new Apple phones aren't much different, too big, and don't have 5G.

USB C charging and a realistic price tag would be a nice start.

I'm sticking with my 6S until it dies. I'm tempted to get a watch though.
