Hi there

Currently on holiday in France and have just tried to log into Sky Go but it won’t let me as I haven’t used it in the UK in the last 37 days (no reason to as I only watch Sky on my TV....). I would be eternally grateful if somebody could log in to Sky Go or Sky Q with my details and watch something for a minute then log out, which should then allow me to watch content.

Many thanks

Tim

Do you still need help with this? If so, send me a PM.

Many thanks for responding - I just tried to send an email but it says your account doesn’t accept them.

I live in France in the summer and have the same problem. I got the impression that your laptop had to return to the UK, so it would be great to know if this works.

I’ve had this problem before, I just connect to my phone as a hotspot then it’s right as rain as such.

Even while abroad? Will try later.

Yes..somehow it tricks it to thinking it’s in the UK (uk Voda Sim).

Tried it but it would not work. I had deleted and reinstalled the app. I received the error code 1404 Sky Go is not available.

I use Voda UK, to watch the GP, I could use my Voda allowance, but not if I cannot get in.

If you download a VPN (tunnelbear gives you a free 500mb per month) then it can spoof that you are in the UK.

However, I understand SKY are getting much smarter at detecting when the request comes from a VPN provider.

No, I have a VPN, but since the introduction of the day limit they have become as smart as bbc

I have hot spotted to my iPad, no issues, I tend to use the sky sports app rather than sky go.

As the OP suggests, the issue he has is that his account has been locked due to inactivity rather than anything else.

I used Sky Go on a laptop whilst in France in August to watch a GP and some IndyCar without any issues, or a VPN.

Quick update - really grateful for the help of a fellow PHer, but unfortunately I can’t get this to work as I need to use the iPad/device in the UK before travelling rather than the account. Will know for next time!
