Hi All,

Anybody had any dealings with "smarty" phone network which is run by Three?

Basically been with EE on sim only for about 4 years now, previous to that was with Three on sim only. Last 6-8 months phone signal in work office has been none existant, few colleagues have said the same who are on EE, found out the other day the phone mast has been moved onto the top of the building.

The company I work for has 5,000 people in this building and the company uses o2 as their provider, o2 works fine in the building, however a few colleagues say that Three works fine as well (remember it did from years ago).

I'm a heavy data user so looking for sim only 60gb+ and at the moment "Smarty" is coming out cheapest with £18.75 a month for unlimited.

One of these networks similar to giff gaff etc, as far as I can see however unlike giff gaff, their unlimited is unlimited and not throttled like giff gaff.

Any reviews?

I have 2 sim cards with Smarty, 1 for the wifi hotspot device to keep the kids happy on long journeys and one is the wifes sim card. I originally bought their unlimited data sim when we moved house, to fill in while broadband was being setup. Ended up getting through around 350 gig in 1 month and expected them to cut me off, however they didn't say anything. Next month changed to 8gb for a tenner and just using it in the car for long journeys. Wife has a 2gb deal and she doesn't complain, seems to work fine. Contacted customer services once, which is via their online chat portal, someone responded quickly and resolved my query (double data deal hadn't been applied).

Seems fine for our use, no complains.

Can't help with an opinion on data usage because I don't use any and so get a reduced bill every month. As for Smarty I've been using them for maybe a couple years now and have never had a problem, cheap and cheerful although they are only contactable online. One thing I do like is picture texting is free.

Online is fine for me I'm the type of person who contacts CS through twitter or webchat.

Decided to go for it, spoke to EE and yesterday was the first day I could leave without paying, sat in work today thought might as well go for it so just pulled them plug, the 25% off offer ended today as well so just snuck in.

£18.75 for unlimited vs £13 for 65gb I was paying EE. As its a rolling month contract if its no good will just bin it off.

Sim card turned up the day after, activated and sent my PAC to them to transfer number from EE.

IF anybodys interested use the link below, means we will both get a free month:

I'd say enjoy it while it lasts and hope you don't have any problems. They have a terrible reputation on every review site, even worse than Vodafone and that's an achievement in itself.

Where are you getting that from!? They are well rated on any customer review site I've seen.

There's a right mix of reviews to be honest, I thought for a 1 month rolling contract its worth a gamble.

Did a speed test yesterday using EE 4G on my phone at home, 86up 92 down..... at work 1up, 0.2 down

I mainly use the 4G at work, got Wifi at home.
