Anyone know about Ipod's?

I have an old ipod which seems to be working fine until i try and set it up on on my Apple ID. I get a code that pops up on my other 'I device' wich i am supposed to type into the ipod (Touch) but the Ipod is not offering me a keyboard .

I know the keyboard works as i have already typed in my Apple ID info by this point.

This is actually happening with two ipods that have just been reset so it feels like i am doing something wrong rather than both of them have exactly the same issue.

Any suggestions?

Update:

All sorted..after half an hour talking to apple they remembered an old technique to input the pass code when not prompted.

I think i took him on a trip down memory lane!
