stty day topped up with a stty end by smashing my 12.9 pro screen when i reached to get something out from a cupboard above.

Anyone had any success replacing these things DIY? Feels like home insurance is the best route here and taking the hit on the excess and increased policy next year.

Apple is £650, private is £400 and I think the screen is about £200 for the part.

I’d be going home insurance or sell for spares and by the latest model.

Is the screen broken? Or the digitiser? Can you still use it and read the screen? Replacebase list the digitiser at £145. Probably a fiddle to change but there’ll be lots of how to videos online

It's just the screen as far as i can see. Everything else is working fine.

Home insurance is looking likely. I've replaced screens on phones etc. but nothing this size / complicatied.

Have a look on ifixit ... It's a big job with massive risks. I'd bang it through the insurance (my house insurance wouldn't cover the replacement of the glass back in my iPhone X though which was £642 though she to a cost Vs repair formula)
