Bought myself an edgerouter4 an after watching a couple of YT vids with set up, some are saying it's a good idea to set this up as a DHCP server and resolver.

Thing is, i can't really see the advantage over the standard router set up.

Is it worth the set up?

Are there any noticeable performance benefits for small office/home use?

Benefits compared to what ?

The Edgerouter is a low-end Enterprise device, so offers a lot of configuration flexibility. But if all you need is a DSL connection to the internet from your WiFi, it might be overkill. Did you have some problem with your existing setup you were trying to solve ?

No problems at all, it all appears to be running great.

Was only that I read it was a form of ‘fine tuning’ and had performance benefits but was unsure how it worked and if it would be much point with my small ish network set up.
