Can somebody techie have a look at this page for me:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/projectm/9ndcvh0...

It's the Microsoft Store and I'm trying to install projectM on my win 10 machine. I used WinAmp and Milkdrop for years and I have projectM on my Android phone so I'd like it on my PC again.

When I click "Get" it says I need an App to download it but doesn't tell me what App. There are no clues anywhere on the site on how to download and install it, can't find anything on the web (except lots of stuff about how to get your sound source to recognise it - which isn't the problem)

I know I'm probably being thick but this is the Microsoft Store not some backwoods Warez exchange, shouldn't there be some form of instruction for the congenitally slow like myself?

Thanks.

Try and get it via the Microsoft Store app in Windows 10 rather than a browser?

Not very helpful but it installed for me ok on a PC with Windows 10. Clicking 'Get' opened up the Microsoft Store window & then clicking 'Install' installed it. When you click Start & the installed programs are listed can you see the Microsoft Store one?

Thanks for taking the time FWD but I can't even find that!

If I go to the store and search for the Microsoft Store App I just get loads of random Apps, not the actual one.

I'm useless with all this stuff cos on all my PC's I immediately turn off all this app rubbish and tiles and what have you to get them to look like PC's again, I don't want my desktops or laptops to look like phones and I don't give a fk what the weather is doing or what's trending on fking twitter!

You starting to get the picture? This is why I haven't got a clue smile

Check your start menu, Microsoft Store should still be on there even if you have turned off tiles. If you have uninstalled it you should be able to reinstall it in settings/apps & features find it on the list and reinstall.

Nah, it isn't, but I do tend to purge my machines of just about everything that isn't vital, that's come back and bit me in the arse today.

I'm not going to re-install any bloat though, I'll go without projectM, first time I've ever been to the Microsoft Store anyway. Thanks for your help though people, appreciated.

I'm surprised you could uninstall it. I can't get rid of crap like Bubble Witch 3 & Disney Magic Kingdoms.

I don't think it's easy to get rid of Microsoft Store.

OP - have you tried pressing the Windows key and just typing "store" and <Enter> ?

I tried that. I got something called "Store Pusher" which wouldn't even load as a screen shot!

I strip everything from my machines, right down to the Services level, I'm very anal about it. I've probably dumped most of what Microsoft want me to have. I even download stuff like Autoruns to cut every last resource out of my processes.

Cortana - gone, Tiles - gone, Windows features - gone, Services - pared to the bone, Start up - stripped out to nothing, RegEdit - Edited to within an inch of it's life. Apps, Privacy, Accounts, Gaming - all decimated.

It's how I enjoy myself.

Interesting hobby. I clean rebuild my PCs and uninstall all the crapware, but not to that degree.

You could probably reinstall it -

Or, live without.

I don't know why I made that post to you last night dhutch, my apologies. As I recall it was supposed to be a joke answer to another thread but I had been drinking so obviously got my wires crossed.

Then this is the result of that hobby I'm afraid.
Some of those things are integral to the OS.
You're life isnt going to fall apart because you leave Win10 intact.
Unless you stay off the internet and use a Nokia 3310, the world knows practically everything about you.
