Hi All

Right, just when I think I've worked it out, one final thing I cannot get my head around - help appreciated!

So, I've realised I'm old school. I have a MacBook, and save all of my files on it (backed up regularly etc). I have turned on iCloud, has love being able to access all of these remotely, on my iPhone.

All good. However, I do like to still have everything downloaded on my hard drive, and have noticed that anything I add in a folder on iCloud using say my phone, although appearing on my hard drive, is not downloaded until I select it.

Is there any way I can identify those files that I have revised or added to iCloud that are not downloaded on my hard drive, and then download?

Am I making any sense....?

Thanks very much.

iCloud should sync everything on your desktop and documents folders.

If you save a file in a subfolder of documents - it will save on iCloud.

I pay Apple £6.99 a month for 2tb of storage.

Everything I save on my MacBook - under the documents folder / subfolder - it will go to iCloud automatically

I can use my iPhone - and access all the files on iCloud.

Get the idea??

Oh - and it downloads on demand...

Why download stuff that you may not need?

Thanks very much.

I (think) I understand the concept, and all appears to be working well, just as you have explained. However, being old school I still also like to have a copy of everything on my hard drive, which I can also back up (Time Capsule), which will not pick up those docs that have been revised on another device and not yet opened on my Mac...

I was hoping I could search for these in some way on my Mac, and open them to download.

Many thanks again.
