It's just another A/B test from Google. They announced this much earlier this year, and from memory I think they ran a smaller scale test then too.
Long term aim is they want to develop an improved way for people to navigate the web, and realise most people on the web don't look at the URL in the listing of a search result.
Which is actually true - most people don't! So it's therefore irrelevant to most users.
Their ultimate aim is to improve security on search result listings so as users don't have to worry about what they see as "geeky techie" stuff like a URL.
It's a valid concern admittedly. But you definitely don't want one tech company being the gate keeper and holder of the keys to a new standard.
Which is why efforts like this must involve open collaboration from as many tech companies and regulatory bodies/organisations as possible.
But it has to start somewhere, which is what you're seeing in the tests above. I don't have a gripe with the tests themselves, but I do have a gripe that their not opt-in and opt-out ie you should be notified you're participating in a test, and given the option to opt-out if you so choose.

Almost everyone won’t care.
As said already URLs are inscrutable to anyone who isn’t in IT. I despair of even trying to read them out to people on the phone or whatever.
We’ve got a website at work that we use for dev stuff and it starts with “dev” instead of “www” and even trying to explain that is constantly mystifying. To this day people still try and put www.dev to the point that I had to cover that off in DNS too.
Anyone using Google just to find things doesn’t care about the URL, they care that they end up where they wanted to go.

It is easy to copy the direct URL on Android 10 if you need it that badly, but it's a 3-tap manoeuvre.
1. Tap the chosen search listing to open it.
2. Tap the Share button in Chrome's toolbar (left of centre)
3. Tap Copy on the top of the share sheet.
It does take a second to do the 3 taps, but it all depends how often you need to do it I guess as to whether that's deemed hassle or not. Time wise it's pretty much even with a long press and then copying anything.
