Hi
I have a special edition Lamborghini DVD, but I would like to watch it on my PC. The problem? I dont have a DVD drive. Is there any software I can get (preferbly free :P) to convert my CD drive into a DVD drive, or how would I use a DVD drive (someone elses) to be able to watch this DVD on my PC?
Cheers

It's not software you need but a DVD drive. If you can't or don't want to fit one internally then you can buy a USB external DVD drive, otherwise an internal DVD reader & writer will cost around £30.

Alternatively someone on here may have an old one knocking around that they are will to swap for a few beer tokens to cover postage, or if you send the DVD to them they may be able to convert it to a format small enough to fit on a CD.

The thing to ask for is MPG1 encoding. However quality will suffer significantly and I'm pretty sure you'll lose the menu and other interactivity; it'll be a simple linear programme.

It doesnt have a menu, the DVD is just a 4 minute video of a Gallardo driving around a deserted NYC. Totally mint DVD, but I would like to be able to send it to people and post it here on PH

Ah, OK, then you can have high quality MPG and it will be fine.

DVD drives can be bought for as little as £15 now, £35 will get you a DVD burner.

4 minutes of MPEG4 video would be anywhere from about 4mb-40mb depending on the encoding quality & output resolution.
