Can anyone recommend some free/cheap CCTV software?
I only want to view 4 cameras with the ability to record and playback. Nothing too fancy, it is only a home setup.
I have the cameras already (out dated non IP ones) that use the red/yellow composite connectors.
I also have a USB DVR, it's a Swann one, looks like this:

I'm hoping to reuse the USB DVR, but don't know if this will tie me to old versions of Windows or if I can get it working on something like Linux or a Raspberry PI.
I have the original Swann software still, but it only supports up to Win 7 and won't go full screen on a widescreen monitor. I was running it on an old Sony laptop with Win 7 on, but the cat knocked it off the shelf and the laptop is now no good and not worth salvaging. So I want to see what options are out there without breaking the bank.

Are they ONVIF compatible? If so you can use the Dahua software - http://dahuawiki.com/Template:SmartPSS#Download_Li...
I use that for managing Dahua/Hikvision and other third party cameras
It's also free...
