CCTV no picture on TV

A mate has Hilook DVR CCTV box, he is trying to get it to feed his 65 inch LG 4k tv (new) but no picture(displays "No Signal", plugging it in to a spare 24 inch HP computer monitor and it works fine.


Any suggestions ?

What cable is he using to connect the DVR to the TV, and where is he plugging it in?

Google suggests that the output from the DVR is either VGA or HDMI. Assuming that he's using an HDMI cable to connect the two devices then he needs to follow the fault finding guide in the manual and see how he gets on.

He has swapped the cable out, its going from HDMI on the DVR to HDMI 4 on the tv, he has tried different HDMI sockets.

By connecting to the monitor, you've demonstrated that the output from the DVR and the cable are OK, so the answer is going to be in the TV settings.
