While I'm still considering a new lap top and wife considering a Macbook or similar although the HP laptop seems to be sufficient for her current needs, our 14 year old has some birthday money burning a hole in his pocket and has seen an iPad Mini 1, 32GB on the local FB pages.
He's got an iPhone7 and a Fire HD8 and a good PC in his room. Not sure he really needs it or just wants to spend, but is it likely to be any good. Better than the Fire thing which is pretty limited but it's £70 which seems a lot compared to the ones sold on ebay etc and just seems a duplication of what he already has.
Thanks

Potentially up to 7 years old... Discontinued 4 years ago...

Seems like a waste of money.

They are very very slow compared to an iPhone7.

Seems expensive, but even at half the price I wouldn't bother. If it's anything like my 2012 iPad will only run iOS 10, there will be no updates and more and more apps won't run properly frown

I have my mum's old one on my desk, she's just changed it for a new one as it wasn't able to be kept up to date enough with apps etc for her.

If it's too behind the curve for a non-tech lady who's about 70...

I had one that I bought for work then passed it on to my son, it got unusable about 3 years ago!

I bought a mini 2 for £50 to be used as a baby monitor.
It’s not bad for £50 but it’s slow to browse.
I wouldn’t touch a 1 going off the 2.
