This has been going on for a long time, the wifes iPhone does not sound for some texts but it does for others.

The only thing she has on is do not disturb between 10pm and 7am. Its totally random when it decides to sound or not.

I have googled and there are hundreds of reports of the same thing. I have tried changing text notification sound, allow notifications is on and throwing the f**king thing against a wall.

It always seems to know when an important text is incoming and makes no noise then 2 hours later she notices the text and by then what ever urgent issue was at hand is long over.

I have seen it doing this myself so I know for sure its happening.

Any ideas before I get the fine adjusting tool out?

Hard reboot it. Hold down the power and main button at the same time (assuming it’s one with a button still).

If that doesn't work then it will time for a reset (erase all content and settings) and then restore from iCloud (ensuring you have a full backup first of course)

Similarly, I'm infrequently not receiving calls.
No ringing, nothing. Just a missed call, often straight to voicemail.
Good signal strength, plus wi-fi calling available.

Daft question but does your wife use messages on a ipad/mac.

I had this for a while that the message would get delivered to the ipad and not sound on the iphone?

Seemed to be an intermittent problem that comes and goes

I think so yes on her iPad.

I don't really know anything about Apple products so not sure if she uses it I assume there is some way to disable it?

Just an update whilst I remember, this worked. It was the ipad causing the problem, turned off messages on the ipad and now the phone working perfect.

You would think that apple would have that sort of stuff working perfect!?
