A few years on a bit of whim I bough the OH a Fitbit Charge for Christmas, which she really loved and has used daily.

I did pick up a Charge 2 cheap recently as a replacement, but since a really sh*t year for me, I want to do something nice for my family. I have gotten the parents iPhone's and have recently been looking at the Apple Watch 3 for her.

She'd use it primarily as a fitness tracker, and then I suspect her usage of the other features would go up if they are available.

I've looked at the 5 and it seems far more expensive for not a massive amount of functionality unless you're a technophile. I also know she likes the Milanese, magnetic bracelets, but £99!!

I like mechanical watches so have never looked at smart watches.

Any advice gratefully received.

I have an Apple Watch 3 & also just purchased a 5
Sure the 5 has always on display & ECG etc
But it’s a marginal gain TBH

A new 3 @ around £200 is 95% as good as a 5 @ £400

My excuse was that I wanted mobile connectivity watch (got 10% off at Curry’s through work) so around 475 for that

A 3 is a great buy

Just upgraded from a Series 1 to a 3, could not justify a 5, and does everything I need.

Great for keeping up with appointments, very easy to read messages, fitness tracking, even swimming and lots more.

High recommended.

I’m selling a 3 LTE if anyone wants it for 100. Couple of minor scratches on the face.

Thanks guys, just what I was looking for. I think she'll be really happy with a 3.

I'll probably grab her a new one for Xmas, but I may be able to find a use for an LTE 3. Sam can you drop me a PM / email?
