I sent an email yesterday to 1000-odd recipients. I actually sent 10, because I only put 100 recipients in each email.

I got four bounce-backs, telling me "550 5.4.5 Daily user sending quota exceeded. ".

Fine; no problem. So today, I resent those 4 bounced emails, and they all failed again, for the same reason. Yesterday's went at 13:54 and today's went at 14:50, so that's more than 24 hours later.

Why has my quota not reset? What am I doing wrong?

Was there a server name shown against the 550 error / message?

Error message suggests it's Gmail still not happy with the amount you sent rather than Office 365...

I don't knw if there was a server name. Something ending in .gmtp or something. So is Gmail's sending quota different?

GSMTP is Google Mail, so I'd expect all the messages that have bounce to be Gmail addresses.

They do run quotas but after a quick look I've only found them for sending e-mails out from Gmail, rather than to Gmail

O365 shouldn't be used for bulk emails. You'll run the risk of getting your IP blocked.

Best using Sendgrid or other bulk mail services. thumbup

It's one bulk email. Not a regular thing.

1000 sounds low, the rolling 24 hour limit is 10,000 - have you got any other bulk activity going on?

Limits are here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/service...

I've tried againtoday, amd it worked.

Incidentally, I can only have 100 recipients in each email, but the internet says it should be either 500 or 2000.

I had a similar problem with BTYahoo some years ago. Access to the email address was blocked. I was told that it was because I was suspected of spaming. It was with less than 1000 addresses. I discussed the matter with BT and was given a number that I could not go above, I think around 250. Access allowed. I sent my first 225 - just in case - and I was blocked again. Same phone call. I was told 250 but that it was best to keep the number a bit below. I asked if 225 was OK, and was told it was fine.

I spoke with a 'supervisor' and was told it was because of the attachment being near the 20meg limit (you've guessed it, it was around 17). I then went via my website host's email service. I forget the price increase but it wasn't that much. No problem there with 500 as the limit, and 400 or so as my limit. I've since cancelled that facility.
