I'm after a data-only SIM card, one that doesn't need to be topped up every 30 days. I'm trying to work out if GifGaf deals are like this.

https://www.giffgaff.com/sim-only-plans and this would suggest it's 6 months, which is great: https://community.giffgaff.com/d/23325933-how-long... Am I right in thinking that when I buy my Goody Bag, I don't have to pay anything until I've used all the data?

However, it's nowhere to be seen in the T&Cs, so I was wondering if anybody here has had any experience with them?

A goodybag lasts 1 month, but if you just apply credit to your account it lasts until you use it (there may be a time limit, but I suspect it's a long time!)

As above, a Goodybag expires after 1 month. You'd need to add credit to the SIM and use this for ongoing data to save having to renew every 30 days.

Not sure what use you're putting the SIM to but, even with data loaded on, I think Giff Gaff SIMs need to see a text or MMS at least once every 6 months to stay active.

Might be worth having a look at the O2 Classic SIM as an alternative. The stipulation with these is that you top-up a minimum of £10 at least once every 6 months.

The car has a sim card slot, which creates a wireless hotspot. So I'd like a data only deal that sits in there, and I don't have to keep paying every month for it.

What does it mean when you say the Goody Bag runs out after a month? After the month do I just go on to normal rates for data per MB? I think there is an option that 3 does where the data lasts for 24 months, maybe I should go for that instead...

As above, depending on your data use, an O2 Classic SIM will cost you a minimum of a £20 per year ie 2 x £10 top-ups.

NB - data with O2 Classic is charged at 1p per MB.

The Goody Bags are a monthly rolling contract - you pay a set amount each month and get so much data included.
You can just do a standard pay as you go with an auto top-up when credit runs out, but it's 5p per MB and I see someone above says the O2 one is 2p/MB so you may as well go with that!

Yes, I think that's the way to go.
