Which email provider would you recommend ?
Discussion
Hi All,
Through carelessness in changing my password, I'm locked out of my Gmail account for 3-5 days - while they 'review' whether they might give me access to my account. Given comments that I've read elsewhere, to the effect that Gmail rarely unlock accounts, I've decided that I should look for another email provider, but which ?
I've no objections to getting a paid-for service; indeed, it has been suggested that I might use Fastmail, Zohomail or Protonmail.
I don't want to use Yahoo mail, as problems with them led to my moving over to Gmail. I'm not overly keen on the appearance of Gmail; my favourite service was the original incarnation of Yahoo mail.
I'm just looking for something which is secure, with an attractive, simple and easy to use interface.
Thank you, for any suggestions made.

I found GMX a bit clunky, although it was some time ago when set it up. I actually got myname @ gmx. Haven't checked it for a while, wonder if it still works!
I joined an ISP when they first started out and my user name/ email address was just 'my christian name' @Dircon.co.uk.

Is GMX purely webmail or does it have a standalone program interface as well? If it's webmail only, does it store a copy of your emails locally so you can work offline?
I use the web interface on the PC but I also access it on Iphone and Ipad and emails are stored offline on those devices.Shuvi McTupya said:

Just set it up on my Mac Mail using imap, all ok, think I'll start using it a bit more as it all appears quick and efficient, better than when I first used it in 2009.
