We've had a TP Link mains line extender for a couple of years and it has been great. But in the past few weeks the signal has been poor on wifi.

Do these things wear out, or is there another explanation?

Thank you for any pointers.

I've had a few in the past and they all seem to fail after a year or two.

Buy cheap, but twice. Had some Devolo ones for years. Been fine the whole time..

We are becoming increasingly demanding of wifi and the router is in an outbuilding. I seem to recall someone on PH suggesting a good solution to ensure coverage in all areas, but I cannot find it now.

Can anyone tell me what it is please?

I had the free BT ones. Even at that price, I was done. The first set didn't work. The second set did but intermittently.

I've now got the repeater from BT. That's an improvement. The signal strength in my office upstairs is as good as in the living room where the router lives. It's been just 6 months, so I have no idea of longevity.
