I've been putting this off on my MacBook Air but wondered if it was now safe to do so? smile

I installed this on my MBP not long after it was released and it has been flawless since change-over. I would say you are okay, however I do not use my MB for anything near it's capabilities!

I had to do a clean wipe of the SSD in my early 2015 MacBook Air and reinstalled with Catalina a couple of weeks ago.

No issues so far.

Check if you're using any 32 bit applications before you click upgrade!

The only third party sw that I need to worry about is my financial management but they emailed my recently to say it runs fine on Catalina.

I'm back!!!!

All went very smoothly and all my third party apps seem to work fine.

I have a swap file (text) in the new Relocated Items folder on my desktop. No idea what it is/was but all seems fine.

Happy days smile

I recently upgraded to Catalina (mid 2014 or 2015) version and all good except MS Office stopped working.
Used my work O365 account to get back up and running.

I upgraded to Catalina, the only issue I've found so far is that switching between accounts seems to take ages. Much longer than before.

You might have some certficate security issues particularly with Chrome. Catalina tightened up certificate requirements.

I used to wait until the first couple of point releases before doing this. These days I only bother when there's a specific reason to do so as Apple haven't released anything truly that useful in the upgrades for several versions (and may things on the UI have been a step back IMO).

Always, always, ALWAYS check app compatibility before upgrading. The last thing you want to be in for is having to pay for upgrades for key software.
