Chromebook extending to 2 monitors
Discussion
If Type C USB is the only output you have then buy a new/recent Type C dongle which has multiple HDMI outputs. Connect both monitors via HDMI leads and boot the Chromebook.
Once logged in go to your display settings and configure for extended displays, and set stuff like scaling levels for each monitor if you so wish.
Theoretically it should work with Type C displays also, but I've not personally done that.
Just be advised that closing the lid won't put it to sleep. The standard setting is to keep the OS working across any connected displays, as with Windows etc.
The only thing you want to avoid is an old monitor which only has a VGA connector. No amount of adaptors will work to convert Type C or HDMI to VGA. Chrome OS needs 2 way comms with a monitor to recognise it. VGA never had that.
