Hi All,

I picked up a cheap Goblin cordless "stick" vacuum cleaner on a whim today. It says on the box 29.6V with a 30-60 minute run time, so I thought it can't be that bad as a Dyson V6/V7 are only 21.6V with a much shorter run time.

Looking at the product manual it says

Output for adapter: 35.5V DC 500mA
Rating for Vacuum Cleaner: 29.6V DC
Battery specification: Lithium battery 3.7V 2200mAh.

It was the 3.7V which confused me. Looking up the Dyson V6 battery they all say 2100mAh 21.6V.

If the battery only has an output of 3.7V it's going to be useless. I haven't tested it because I'd rather just return it unused if the spec is that bad.

There'll be 8 in series, 8 x 3.7 = 29.6

Cheers guys. Here's the link. I only nipped in for a sandwich! The battery spec and having a powered head made me think it might not be too bad, and at that price I could just use it for crumbs in the kitchen.

It's actually not bad. I only had a little some difficulty with sock fluff, but not much worse than my 1300w Vax cylinder with turbo head does and it feels quicker to use overall, possibly because the Vax is always trying to suck itself onto the floor like a limpet. I filled up the dust box with just two rooms, but I hadn't hoovered for a long time.
