Wondering if anyone can help, i've tried googling but to no avail.
I have a 2014 Macbook Air which runs fine (mostly)
However when i close the lid for it to sleep, or put it into sleep mode, sometimes the battery drains quicker than i think it should be doing. ie it will go from maybe 90% when 'closed' to maybe 30-40% the following evening even though it hasn't been used.
Is this to be expected?

That’ll almost certainly need a new battery. You can check the health of the battery by following this:

Before ordering a new battery I would double check how long you are getting from the battery in continuous use as battery drain issues whilst in sleep mode are not uncommon. I have experience this in the past and have tried SMC/PRAM resets etc including re-installing software and they have worked.

Try reset of the SMC.

Only had 294 cycles and battery is 'normal'https://www.howtogeek.com/312086/how-and-when-to-r...
Given the SMC reset a try, hopefully that will sort it out - it seems a bit quicker already!!
