Anyone use Netgear Orbi?
Discussion
I bought a Netgear Orbing a few years ago and ended up returning it as it was no better than my existing (troublesome) router. Now that router has actually failed and I had heard Orbi had improved, so I have given it another go.
It definitely has improved and is working really well. There are just a couple of things that I can't work out and was wondering is existing owners had done so:
Firstly, I still have one room that is a bit of a dead spot. This is situated about 3m from the main Orbi router and about the same again from the nearest satellite. I've not done any proper testing yet, but every device I take in there gets 2 'bars' of Wifi reception and Speedtest shows 25Mbps up/15 Mbps down. Everywhere else gets 3 bars and 230Mbps up/20Mbps down.
In the past I think I have played around with the channel settings to improve this, but they don't seem to exist in Orbi. Am I missing something?
Secondly, I have got a Synology NAS which now seems to run a bit slow. I went into the Orbi app and it showed as being connected by 2.4 Wi-Fi, which is impossible as it is a wired-only device. Is that just a quirk of the app?
Any advice appreciated from those in the know.

I don't use the Orbi app; my recollection is that it was a bit limited but it's easy to change channels in the web interface.
Thanks. I’ll give that a go.The app seems good as far as it goes, but as you say, it’s a bit limited. I like the way you can test the incoming broadband speed to help assess loss across the network and that you can easily see which extender each device is connected to.
