Monetising YouTube videos
Discussion
Anyone on here know anything about this?
For reasons that I don't understand, one of my YouTube videos suddenly started getting a fair few views about 4 months ago. It's steady at around 9000 views a day at the moment (from about 1 a month in the previous 2 years!).
When I noticed the traffic had increased I turned on monetisation but my CPM is very low because, for whatever reason, 96% of the traffic is from India which I understand has a lower CPM than the US or UK. I'm currently 'earning' about £50 a month from the standard monetisation but I was wondering if there was any way of increasing this.
The only 2 options I've thought about is trying to target the video at UK or US audiences or by using affiliate links but I don't know how to do either. I've watched a few YouTube videos on it but they seem to be setup just to earn more money for their creators, which is fair enough I suppose :-)
Has anyone on here got any experience in this field?
