I'm thinking of getting an action camera for the first time to record parkruns, snorkelling, mountain biking et al.
Is a GoPro Hero 8 worth the premium price? There are many action cameras on Amazon for a fraction of the price but I've read that a lot of the reviews are incentivised or fake.
If a GoPro is worth it, which accessories are recommended? i've read the silicone sleeve, chest mount, and bite mount and tempered glass lens protector.
Thanks in advance

Don't know as I don't own one but my son expressed an interest in spending some of his Christmas money on one for his bike, scooter and other antics and he certainly doesn't have enough money for a GoPro. The Akaso ones on Amazon look good based on what the Internet says but as you also say a lot of these reviews are incentivised.
Probably going to get one, I'll let you know if it's complete cack.

I keep looking at buying an action camera. not made my mind up whether a gopro is worth the additional cost.
but they currently do £100 discount/ cash back if you trade in any old digital camera, even if it’s broken! and also the auto stabilisation (without a gimbal!) looks amazing and hard to beat.
going to end up buying myself one of these, use it once, then leave it in the drawer
