Hey guys hope you can help me on this irritationsmile
>
Problem phone - Moto G7 play
Whatever phone I use I always use my ringtone - One that I made earliersmile
On the motoG7 I've bluetoothed the new ringtone to the phone - no problems - I can even get the new ringtone to play through MotoG7 speaker or via a separate bluetooth speaker - But I can't get the new ringtone into the G7 ringtone list so that I can select it to use for incoming phonecalls????
I'm stumped - any Ideas - The wife also has a Moto, a G6 and I put the same ringtone on her phone without any probs, using the sequence below:-
This is what I've tried/pressed on G7 phone:-
>
1. Settings
2. sound
3. phone ringtone
4. + add ringtone
>
My new ringtone is visible after the + add ringtone selection, but when I select it it doesn't get added to the phones ringtone selection list? Any Ideas/suggestions why not ?
Or any other method of getting the phone to use this ringtone?

Is it an mp3 or a different file format?

Geeks
What difference does the format make?
It plays on G7 phone OK.
What format does the phone prefer?
I can make it any format requiredsmile
Its usable on every other phone including the wifes G6
TBA - I don't think the file format make any difference to the phone being able to 'SEE' it in the ringtone folder - I could be wrong thoughsmile

Can you connect the phone to a PC via a wire and drop the file into the "ringtones" folder?

Some devices won't allow a .wav file as a ringtone. Just because the music player will play it, doesn't mean it will work as a ringtone.

Have you tried copying it to the phone's internal storage rather than the SD card?

Look for where the existing or other ringtone files are stored and copy it there. smile

Thanks guy's for all the help - I give up trying to get the ringtone to work. I took the moto G7 back and swopped it for a Samsung A10 - Sortedthumbup
Why do manufacturers make things so difficult??
SWMBO has last years Moto G6 she never had a problem putting her ringtone on that - but the newer G7 simply didn't want to PLAY??
Oh well smile
