Samsung mobiles How To --?
Discussion
Hope you lot can Help me
Just swopped ny phone from ~10 year old Samsung Galaxy S2 - to a new Samsung A10
I'm using the same micro 128GB SD card which has all my Photo's, Music & movies etc on.
My problem is that the folders are not displayed alphabetically on the A10 like they were on the S2 for example:-
On the Sd card The music is stored alphabetically in folders for each artist and each LP/Cd of that artist has its own folder within that artists folder - all displayed correctly including album covers on the S2
On the A10 the artists folders are NOT shown at all?? - but all the music LP's/CD's etc [over 1000] are now shown alphabetically by album title BUT NOT Alphabetically IN the ARTIST's FOLDERS - how can I get the A10 to display the artist folder format that the music is stored in on the sd card and which displayed correctly on the S2?
I've looked through setting's etc on the A10 there doesn't appear to be any options for displaying the music other that explained above - surely there must be, why would the phone not displaythe folders as saved on the SD card ? Help
FYI - my phone is NOT sync'd to anything - nor do I want it sync'd to anything - I want a standalone device where I insert the sd card and the phone reads it correctly - like a PC would

The problem will be is that your music is not tagged properly. This is how most apps show music now rather than just showing a folder structure.
You will need to use a plain file manager to just see your arranged folders.
When all the tags are applied correctly, your phone will then show album, artists, genre etc all naturally in order.
Without seeing all your files, its difficult to know where the issue exactly is.
No doubt someone will come along and suggest a workaround, but these are issues you will get with large amounts of data. At some point to use it efficiently it has to be organised.
Just putting them in folders isnt enough. For example, you could have a load of files named song1, song2 etc but they would still show grouped correctly because the tags for SongName, Artist, AlbumName, Album Artist etc are all correct.
This is the modern way andit isnt as bad as you think. So you will need to jump through hoops and hassle to continue filing your music as you do.
I know you arent interested but Google Play Music will allow you to upload all that music to their servers (legal or not) so that it is instantly available on all your devices for free.

TA for your reply - sadly I'm an old git and have got use to my way of organising the files, to me its logical, and easy to sort - if for example I want to play a Pink Floyd album I look in the Pink Floyd folder - simple - in fact I can't think of a simpler way of finding a particiular pink floyd album or track can you??
There's over 470 Artist named folders in my Music folder and nearly 1200 albums - & god knows how many tracks. How can it be possible to organiise this lot simpler than my method?????
Why would any phone manufacturer alter the simplest method for something more complicated - I'm truely baffled

Well then all you need to do is use a file manager to scroll down your folder and click the ones you want to play.
All I'm saying, is these days an app will display a music library graphically with album covers. Want Pink Floyd, go to Albums and click on the Pink Floyd picture and it will display all the Album covers of Pink Floyd to choose from.
Like I say, you music is not named and tagged to show properly in modern apps. You need to find an app (I'm sure someone can find on for you) that just displays the music in a computer file structure.
I really dont mean to be nasty but if you insist on sticking with your method you will come up against these problems and workarounds.
I'm 50 so no spring chicken myself.
