I could really do with a USB-C hub that gives me 4x USB-C ports.

These don’t seem to exist for some reason, or at least I can’t find one. Can anyone shed light on the matter?

Thanks

Is this for power or to expand the ports on a device?

If it to expand the ports there are loads on amazon although they may have other ports too.

Yes expand.

What I want it to be able to take my laptop to my desk and plug in 1 USB cable to my laptop and have 4 devices plugged into a hub.

I cant find any with 4.

I would make absolutely sure you are trying to find a usb-c dock. Does your laptop actually have Thunderbolt via a usb-c connector which gives other options?

There are a variety of Thunderbolt docks with a few usb-c ports, and more importantly thunderbolt supports daisy chaining so you could have dozens of usb-c ports in total.

They are thunderbolt/ubsc.... 2016 Macbook pro.

it does have 4 USBC ports.... but I would much rather a 'dock' leaving me to just plug in 1 cable.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-USB-C-4-Port-Tethe...

what about this ?

Edit .. nope just seen that its only got 2 usb c ports.

Looks like it might be part of the spec or the right chip hasnt been built yet... taking a usb-c and keeping speed and power across 4 ports doesn't seem doable

It depends if the OP wants/ needs full USB C functionality or just throttled speed and 10W power.

OP what are you trying to do?

In order to have full speed 4 USB C ports you'd need a powered hub, even regular USB 3.0 hubs are ste if not powered.

Devices are a monitor (usbc-DVI), a midi keyboard and an audio interface.

Happy for the hub to be powered if needs be.

The more I look the more I am convinced I am looking for a hens tooth.

So you can reduce your requirement with a few cables and buying a "docking station"?

Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plugable-Charging-Deliver...
DVI - DVI for the monitor (or HDMI I'd assume is available on the monitor)
There's one USB-C on the front. (Plus one on the back to the laptop)
Can either of the other devices work with a USB-3 cable?

I think I am going to order one of these and see if it works. I just noticed that the audio interface is actually USB-A and I was using a USBA-C adapter.

See what happens. Its got a 50/50 chance I think

Closest I’ve seen is the 18-port Hyperdrive Gen 2 which I’ve backed on Kickstarter

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hypershop/hyp...

Doesn’t ship for a couple of months though
