Last week, one of my email addresses was blocked on my BT account. It was a very little used account that my wife had, so we left it.

Today the other three accounts, including 2 busy ones, have been blocked due to suspicious activity.

Called BT, spoke to an on the ball chap who after talking me thru the recovery process that didn't work, despite a banner popping up on the screen informing me all was good, that he had had lots of similar cases. Apparently due to BT migrating accounts from Yahoo mail back to a BT platform. Fixed within 3 days usually!

Not happy, any one else had this?

Haha, just ticked the 'receive notification of replies button' - bit pointless!

Weirdly, i can now send and recieve emails from one BT account on my mac, I cant get anything on my iphone, despite changing passwords to the new ones.

I cant look at anything on the BT site as my account has been blocked.

Pah!

Try the old passwords.

BT accounts have been noted to be a nightmare for years with password issues. My father-in-law still uses his BT account and often gets in a mess with it.

I've seen a process suggested where you stop the service on every device, then change the password, then restart it again.

I tried to log into his email account on the BT site a couple of weeks ago and I'm absolutely certain I'm using the right password (as I set it up, and put it on three devices he uses) but it just keeps locking.

Can't you open a new email account with gmail, or outlook, or someone like that?

BT looks like too much trouble.

I have had these emails for donkeys years, (andygo) and not too long ago had to migrate to BT as Tesco.net closed down. Fortunately I had the BT ones with the same andygo prefix to migrate to.

To swap 4 accounts to something like andyIhave got really boredwithbt@gmail is a lot of hassle tbh.

I'm sure Bt will sort it- eventually - but its frustrating.

Has nobody else had this account compromised nonsense?

Won't Moorgate Finance sort something out for you?
