My wife currently uses a Galaxy Tab4 tablet but we are looking to upgrade and get a newer one with a larger screen.
We/she uses it for basic browsing, emails and the odd Youtube video.
I'm guessing that the iPads are probably regarded as the mutts nuts however I think they are probably too pricey for our needs. Can anyone recommend any other make and model which may suit us?
Thanks

t tablet is probably adequate for basic browsing, emails and the odd Youtube video. I suspect any make/model 10 inch tablet would be suitable for the stated use if you're not bothered about lightning fast processing. And if you stick with Samsung the UI will be familiar.

No bloatware, simple to use, great battery life, and circa 8 years of OS and security updates.
It'll run any android apps she's used to, but with a full fledged browser, and the extra functionality and security of Chrome OS combined with a detachable keyboard. So it can be used as much more than just a tablet.
US price is confirmed at $279.

I agree. I’d still buy an iPad.

There's a few vids of it on YouTube from it's debut at CES in January. I use an original ASUS Chromebook Flip for couch/lying in bed stuff every day for the last 5 years and it's still perfectly suited to the job. But it could reach EOL this year for updates, which is a pain as it's still ideal for purpose. Hence why I'm watching that Ideapad Duet. Lead contender for a replacement, except new devices now come with 8 years of updates rather than 5, thankfully.

Lenovo Tab 10 £99 from Argos on offer, had it two years perfect.
Anybody that says you need an I pad is just an Aplle fanboy who can't see pas the badge IMHO
No. As above, I've a Xaiomi phone and I still recommend the iPad. Cheap Android gear makes sense, but the branded and halo stuff is as expensive as Apple and not as good.Anybody that says you need an I pad is just an Aplle fanboy who can't see pas the badge IMHO
