Streaming music from NAS or phone

[.Adam.]

I want to stream my music either from my NAS ( Synology DS212j running DLNA) or my android phone to a smart device(not Chromecast). I have all music stored locally on both devices. This isn't a problem, but I really like the smart playlists that you get through Google Play music, but I can't stream from that without a Chromecast.

Are there any other alternatives that offer the same functionality with smart playlists that come recommended? Does Plex offer this? I also have an android tablet that would have to stream from my NAS to the smart device, so would be handy if it supports this as well!

what do you define as a smart playlist?

Sorry, wrong phrase. In Play Music, it is an 'Instant Mix', so you select a song and it will populate a playlist with similar songs.
