I'm looking at the Yale Conexis L1 to install on a couple of doors at home. The reviews on Amazon are mixed to say the least, lots of issues with the installation and the support.

I don't want to spend the sort of money that Yale are asking for if the product is half-baked. There will be a door with a key on, but I like the idea of a Smart Lock and the upsides it has, however, the reviews are really putting me off. Would be good to hear from real-world experience of those who have them.

My concern would be... what happens in the event of a power cut.

Mag locks on external doors release when no power is there, does this apply to this door lock.

I don't know. That's a very good point though and one I'll look into...

Hmm there a few scenarios where the above doesnt appear ideal either

Does the door re-lock if the outage is only a minute or two, just thinking if there is an outage through the night for a few minutes are you then sleeping with your doors open all night

Or if your away on holiday and there is an outage do your doors re-lock

In the event of the battery running out (and you get plenty of warning for this), you can jumpstart the lock as there’s two battery terminals you simply touch with a 9v battery and you can use your RFID fob or smartphone to get in.

Why would you think there’s parity?

We have a Yale lock on our place in Orlando... and it’s not the way they work

We've got one fitted at work. It's been there about 2 years, is used probably 15/20 times a day.
In that time I have changed the 4 AA batteries once (it gives plenty of warning they are going flat).
Other than that it just works.
