Should this be compatible?
Discussion
This maybe a long shot as i am dealing with some older tech here..
My buddy is trying to get a little more life out of his old PC by putting a beefier GPU in and so far two cards have failed to boot up.
The motherboard in the PC is an Intel DX38BT with a Chip that runs at 3.0mhz.
The GPU that he has been using is a Radeon HD 7750 DDR5 1GB which is obviously limiting graphical performance but it works faultlessly.
He tried putting a Radeon RX560 DDR5 4GB card and the machine would not boot up so he returned the card thinking it was faulty and is now trying a Sapphire RX 570 Nitro+ DDR5 8Gb card but this card is also not working.
Does anyone know if the ageing motherboard might have a limit on the amount of Ram that it can handle in a GPU as it obviously not the fact the card is DDR5 that is causing an issue.?

Yes, the 4gb card was no problem in that regard as his PSU had the necessary leads.
The 8GB card is obviously more power hungry so his first attempt involved only using 6 of the 8 'pins' but he says what that 'should' mean was that the card would be supplied with 75 watts rather than 150 and it should in theory atleast run windows to confirm compatibility.
The machine does not even get as far as loading the bios (with either card)

Not compatible with that board, according to this - https://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/Intel/Intel_DX38BT/2... click on compatible GPUs red button, then AMD then R series. Only up to RX 460.
BIOS update needed?
