Pay Pal Pro vs Stripe
Discussion
We've been using Pay Pal Pro for a decade now, why? I really don't know! I'm looking at Stripe, what's not to like?!
Pay Pal :- 3.40% + £0.20 per transaction plus a £20 monthly fee.
Stripe :- 1.4%+ £0.20 per transaction ZERO monthly fee.
Seems like a no brainer?
Any others to consider?
TIA

also from the 5th of this month Paypal stopped refunding paypal fees when you refund an order. Even if its to cancel an order that never shipped.
Yep!! Which for me was the final nail in their coffin! IMO it takes the piss, they get their fee no matter what! They are already expensive. My only "fear" with Stripe is Google have an interest in them. Having said that there is no getting away from Google anyway and IIRC card vendors (Mastercard?) share customer data with them anyway!!Edited by Dave_ST220 on Tuesday 17th March 15:28

Ebay will be switching to their own payment system this year so im not sure where that will leave paypal.
Unfortunately Stripe are doing this also. A bit annoying. Ebay will be switching to their own payment system this year so im not sure where that will leave paypal.

Thanks everyone. Those who are using them, are you using their API or Elements? Does their dashboard display the buyers details like Pay Pal does?
I use a piece of code that works via Stripe Terminal; though I use it less frequently now; I usually charge customers by logging directly into Stripe and creating charges. Our business has flexible pricing so this works better for us this wayDave_ST220 said:

Yes it's fully comprehensive. You can bring up all details of payees whether online or created by you. It also has a full suite of risk mitigation tools too. More than I would ever need. Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
