Laptop recommend for yr6/7

[tobeee]

My son's hogging my laptop and so I need to get him one quickly! I've got a Dell XPS but doubt I need to spend so much for his needs - home schooling til secondary school hopefully starting in September.

I've looked on PCWorld and CEX for some ideas but the choice is overwhelming so I'd be grateful for any recommends, if only for brand! I'm hoping I can spend less than £400...

He's waiting for me to finish typing this so he can have it back!

I'd go for something like this, a little bit over your budget but worth spending the extra

Ryzen CPU with a Decent Graphics Card

Will last him a good few years for School

I'd get a refurbished one from eBay. You can get a decent Thinkpad for around £250. Make sure its got an i5 and 8gb RAM if he is just doing homework.

That's what we did for our kids. Refurbished dell i5 for £135 with 6 months warranty 👍

Just bought a Acer 314 Chromebook for £229 from Argos, most places have sold out as most parents like me are trying to get kids set up on home schooling.

It’s an impressive laptop and puts Apple to shame with their prices. I did have to collect it thou as delivery was 7 days. But I deem it as essential travel so kids can still learn
