4K monitor for pc and Xbox one S

Hi All,
With my partner wfh at the moment and me finding myself sharing the office etc I’ve decided on a new monitor for dual screen and gaming duties. Naturally I’m thinking of a 4K upgrade.
We’ve a LG OLED connected to the Xbox One X and PS4 pro and it’s brilliant. I’m finding it hard to justify a massively expensive monitor to use with an Xbox One S and a laptop PC purely for IT duties. No graphics editing etc.
Is a IPS 4K panel around £300 without HDR a better bet than one with HDR due to the peak brightness of the cheaper monitors and needed to spend quite a bit more for HDR?
