When downloading e-mails to my PDA can I leave my GPRS connection switched on all the time without it costing me in call charges? or does it act like a 56K modem, ie. pay as you go?
Sorry if this is a simple answer?
Simple answer.
No, it does not act as a dial up modem.
You are charged by the Mb (size) of the files / emails that you download.
Watch what else you have running on your PDA as well. A whole host of applications will send and recieve data while they are sat apparently doing nothing.
If you're bill's a worry, best off disconecting, it's not like it takes very long to reconnect.
on my O2 XDA II my GPRS connection can be always on it costs nothings, its the data size that I'm charged for as said above also.
