Never seen a topic for people to talk about their home automation set up & things they are looking at.

Being fairly new to it (about a year) i've got HASS.io set up on a PI running my Arlo cameras, Xiaomi motion & door sensors, turning on & off a bunch of smart lights (need to find some better ones as have hive and well hive it poop).

Using node red too which is quite nice to set up the automation, certainly beats writing phyton which was new to me.

Few automations i've got are:

All lights come on if arlo detects motion at night
Fan comes on or off in the summer depending on temp
Hall way light comes on when the front door opens in the dark

Just about it so far but moving house so looking at getting honeywell evo home & some valves and going the whole hog on that!

We have Evohome, it was an expensive initial investment but it’s well worth it. Literally fit and forget, has never let me down. There is a thread covering heating automation.

Have a rpi running Domoticz which acts as a gateway for receiving data from and controlling other HA devices. InfluxDB/Grafana lets me see pretty graphs and historical data. Something else lets me control devices from Alexa.

Not much in terms of automation. Main one is switching on and off our outside lights at the right time, controlled from Fibaro Z-wave controllers. Also stuff like putting Evohome into ‘away’ mode when the house alarm is enabled.

My next project is to have a little screen somewhere showing data. Haven’t looked too much at that yet!

I have a system running on Openhab. Started 2 years ago with a tp link bulb, expanded to a few bulbs and sockets. then got set up with openhab. added a few sonoff basics. Now it has 20 odd lights, TV, satellite box, weather station, heating, chromecasts, 3 d printer, cameras and google assistant all incorporated. Most of it is homemade based on esp8266 chips. I have rules that turn lights on at sunset depending who is home and rules doing other stuff depending on weather, temperature or time.
