I need a phone with a number.

Needs to be a smart phone for Instagram and WhatsApp etc.

But most of all a phone for, you know, phoning people.

We have an iPhone 6 here with a cracked screen. I could get that fixed and a SIM card?

Is there a reputable fixer? Mail order would be handy give lock down.

I see Apple with do it for £136.

I'm no keen to commit to £30 month as it £700 over 2 years and I'd rather earn that money than spend it on a phone.

Other ideas? Used phones worth looking at?

For my kids I bought a refurbished iphone 8 with 12 months warranty from here : https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/store/products/apple...

I paid circa £200 for a 64gb one at Xmas 2019. Prices seem to fluctuate based on stock availability.

And I pay £10 pcm for a Tesco sim card which works well : https://www.tescomobile.com/shop/sim-only-deals/si...

You should be able to get the screen fixed for £40-50 if you can wait until the shops open. Is it still usable?

The iPhone may be locked to a network, so you'll need to stick with that network unless you get it unlocked.

You should be able to get unlimited calls and texts for £10/m ish. I pay EE £5/m plus I get 20GB of data, but that was a special I think.

I use GiffGaff - which is £10 a month for 6GB (or less for less data). You don't have to commit to a contract so it's on a month by month basis. They use O2 so are reliable.

https://wefix.co.uk/ - mobile screen repair, I think they are an authorised Apple and Samsung repairer. We've had two phones fixed with them (Samsung ones). Plus they still seem to be operating.

If you go through to almost paying and then don't proceed they will send you a 5 or 10% off voucher in 24/48 hours or so.

£99 I think for your phone.

As I mentioned if you wait they will offer a discount. or at least they did

I've got a contract with Lebara for £5 per month, unlimited calls and texts plus some data.
