This should be a fairly easy one for the combined PH tech gurus. Yes, I know I could do a Google/Ecosia search, but I’d also like to hear from people what works in the real world and PH posters are generally a pretty helpful bunch.

My nephew got married a while back and I have a load of photos - probably a couple of hundred - of the wedding, preparations, various family/friends, on my iPad. I live in the UK and my nephew, his wife and their children are currently living in Los Angeles. The photos are a mixture of phone photos and ones uploaded from a digital camera to the iPad.

What’s the easiest way/best place online for me to upload the photos, so that he can see them and download/save any of the ones they want to keep? I’ve no idea if he has a tablet but I’d assume they will at least have a smartphone and laptop between them, but I’m not sure whether it’s iOS, Android or anything else that they use.

Would Google photos/drive do it? I want to upload in as high a resolution as possible, in case they want to actually print any out. I’m aware there’s a way to upload on iOS to a shared album that he could then view, albeit I’m not aware of the process itself (I’m guessing it’ll be fairly simple if he is on iOS).

I realise I’ll potentially get as many different suggestions as there are posts, but I’m hoping there will be at least some consensus on the best option.

Much simpler would be to just upload to a Facebook album in HD. The photos will still be fine to print out.

Cheers, will have a look at the suggestion - Facebook is a no go as neither of them use it, bizarrely.

Google Photos is good, just set the quality to "original" (how to do that here: https://support.google.com/photos/answer/6220791) - the default is they allow you to keep as much as you like they just resize anything over 16MP for you. Setting to orignal makes it come out of your google storage quota (15GB before you start paying) but a few hundred photos shouldn't put a big dent in that.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I went with Google drive, uploaded all the photos and shared the link to the album with my nephew and his wife, which they were really pleased with. It took a while for the photos to upload initially, but I just clicked the ones I wanted from my iPad’s photo roll then just left it to it.
