Help me with my phone memory card please

Hi, I have a Samsung J3 1917 with an additional memory card, allegedly 64 GB but reporting as expected as 59 ish

The phone internal memory is full whilst the memory card is empty

Can someone kindly point me the way to send all memory demands to the card instead please and let me begin using the phone's new apps again please?

I just cannot find a 'trigger' button in the settings

You can't run applications from the SD card, but can use it for storage.

Run Device maintenance first to get rid of some space for the phone to just run properly.
Then delete all useless apps and games.
Removed backed up google photos and videos.
Delete cached data for some of the big apps like facebook and streaming apps.
Then move any physical files you have saved like music to your card.
You cant just press a button and all your problems are solved.

Thanks for the guidance, can I send the photograph files to the Google Cloud or must I save them to my PC hard drive some way?

I apologize for the dumb questions, I do hide behind my old age with some tech questions but it annoys me when I should to be able to work these things out for myself.
