Simple and daft question - the blue type of monitor lead that's been around pre HDMI, is that visual only? I'm connecting a modern Acer PC to a Samsung tv but not getting any sound. It's an old tv so no other way am afraid other than the RCA plugs for sound.
Yes it's a VGA cable so video only. If the TV takes phono plugs for sound, you just need a 3.5mm headphone back to 2x phono plug converter to connect the laptop sound to the TV.
