What Office / Gaming chair?
Discussion
Like everyone else (among the lucky few that can) I've been working from home the last few weeks.
My employer recently announced that there will be no real rush to get back into the office (maintain social distancing etc) and there's been talk of moving to a hot desking \ meeting room model for the business moving forward.
So my chair needs an update to deal with the increased use. Has anyone got any recommendations?
Cheers!

Can only agree with this - I bought Embody from HM blindly (no showrooms are open) and it’s brilliant - worth every penny. There are some good chair reviews on YouTube which helped sway me.
Freedom looks very good also. I doubt anyone would go far wrong with any of these chairs mentioned.
I also have serious nerve damage from a herniated disc no doubt brought on by years of poor posture. You can’t put a price on good ergonomics and back care.

My Humanscale Freedom (without headrest) was as expected second hand, but with refurbished leather. The back of the chair has the odd scrape, but nothing major. Other than that it looks great and is very comfortable. I used the “make offer” on the site which gave me a further reduction.

Anyway, I didn't even like the chair, it was too minimalist and not sturdy enough, I'm 80kg and it didn't feel like it had enough resistance when I lent back etc.
I thought the same when I sat in my HM but then discovered that you alter the tension to the point where you can sit back or forward in the chair with minimal effort and it just follows you. I'd be amazed if the Humanscale didn't do something similar given its price point and ergonomic credentials.Something to look out for on the next one you try - don't just take the default setup. These things are very highly adjustable and need tailoring carefully for your body.
I'm heavier than you
and this thing is rock solid.theboss said:

That looks more like it - I think I'll give one a go!
If you're buying new I'd be happy to recommend the outfit I bought mine from - very helpful and they have offered me a discount on a sit-stand desk I've subsequently ordered. Turnaround on the chair was about 3 weeks and it came fully assembled from factory. PM if interested to know more.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
