Big news coming out of Germany this evening with various sources stating that Vettel has not agreed a new contract and will be leaving Ferrari at the end of the season.

Big news coming out of Germany this evening with various sources stating that Vettel has not agreed a new contract and will be leaving Ferrari at the end of the season.

I'm wondering if Vettel will just call it quits now. I don't think he's the type to race for a midfield team now, he can stay at home with his wife and kids and enjoy life.
My vote is for DR to have been on the phone to Maranello asking when he can do his seat fitting.
Obviously my thinking these things mean none of them will actually happen...

Hardly surprising, vettel hasn’t scored a point yet this season....
But in all seriousness, it was clear Leclerc was going to be faster and stronger in 2020, Lewis, Max and Valteri all likely to carry the same level of performance over from last year, Albon and the new breed getting faster too... Vettel would be seriously challenged to make the podium most weekends this year.

finger crossed that this isnt a straight swap Sainz for Vettel.
In my fantasy land Vettel off to pastures new, less hectic travel and better balance. Sainz gets the big drive and Merc's newfound influence at McLaren pulls Russell up.

I think that Ferrari are putting all their weight behind LeClerc now. He's their man, their Max Verstappen, they don't need anyone getting in the way.Ricciardo wasn't exactly compliant when teammates with Verstappen at Red Bull (nor should he have been)
He wants to win and if he talks to Ferrari, he'll be telling them that.
Therefore, I think Sainz is the more likely option, but who knows........I didn't really think Vettel would go.

To be honest I've never seen Ricciardo as much of a Ferrari fan boy who's dream has always been to drive for Ferrari - or Ferrari is massive fans of Ricciardo for that matter. I also think he has to big and fun a personality to slot in to the way the Ferrari team is structured and run.For me if you look across the paddock for someone who does have the Ferrari dream and Ferrari have said nice things about in the past your eyes have to settle on Sainz. Sainz to Ferrari, freeing up a seat for Ricciardo at McLaren.
The other option is to go for a young driver, which leaves you looking at Giovinazzi. Now I've never seen Ferrari as big risk takers so don't think they would gamble on two young drivers, which puts you back looking for an old hand...like Sainz.
