Adobe CC on OS Catalina
Discussion
Upgraded one of my MacBook Pro to Catalina without first reading that it causes CC 2015 to crash. I acquired the software through a previous company I did some work for about 4 years ago, they've been bought up and merged into a bigger firm. I've been using the software it daily ever since. Since installing Catalina it won't work as it's 32bit and Catalina will only support 64 bit.
Is there any way to get it working or will I have to backup, wipe the laptop and reinstall Mojave. Or pay about a grand year to subscribe to Adobe.

Go back to Mojave, or subscribe to CC2020 (£600/year). On the same machine you'll probably find CC2020 a fair bit slower (launching & UI) than 2015 (and CC2017 won't work either, as that's what I upgraded from). Unfortunately you've just missed a £30/month (for a year) offer.
The main apps themselves are 64-bit, but some of the libraries they call in the package are not - and Adobe has/had no intention of updating them to 64-bit...why would they when they want everyone on their gravy train.
Although it is a good time to audit which apps you actually use, and then see if it's cheaper to drop in & out of individual subscriptions each month as you need a specific app. Although you'd only need to use 3 apps @ £19.97/month to go over the bundle price of £49.94/month.
The other option is to use the free 7-day trials, then wipe & reinstall to get another trial...or if you have a student email address then you can get a £16.24/month subscription for the first year).

For what it offers you, Catalina is not worth upgrading to IMO given the associated problems like this that come with it. Sorry to say I agree - wipe and go back to Mojave. Do you have a Time Machine or CCC you can restore from quickly?
Yes I do daily time machine backups for both my iMac and MacBook Pro and have iCloud backup for photos, contacts etcDurzel said:
Surprised CC continues to work at all without an active subscription. CS6 was the last version that you could actually buy.
We use CC at work and if no longer licensed you get a 30 day grace period.
That is correct. We use CC at work and if no longer licensed you get a 30 day grace period.
It requires a regular update check through the Creative Cloud App (which keeps crashing on my Mac despite multiple wipes & reinstalls)...and Illustrator randomly gives a crash report when I quit (CPHTML engine or something).
I skipped CC2017 as I didn't want to pay for a subscription when I had CC2016 working fine (and fast) with loads of plugins that might also require a paid upgrade.
I only went subscription in late 2019 - and got a 'special deal' equivalent to about £28/month after cashback. Really dislike the new version of Acrobat though - what a mess!!!
