I don't want to buy kit and have to send it back so if anyone is able to sense-check this setup for me that would help me get it right first time.

I have a SP4 for work and my own PC. I have three monitors, a large 4k display and a pair of 1080p screens. I have it set up with a single channel 4k KVM switch, so only my main screen switches, the other two remain with the Personal PC. This works OK, but it would be helpful to have the option to take more screens over to my work environment.

Issues are single DP output on the SP4, and a single KVM switch is all or nothing, that and I need to retain 4k resolution and can't afford a KVM for multiple screens out that supports 4k.

So I'm thinking of this to get the three monitors to work on the SP4:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JLRBC7S/ref=pd_lpo_sb...

Then I will run each monitor on it's own 2:1 KVM switch. The mouse etc will remain on the 4K switch for the main screen, so the setup will basically allow me to choose whether the two extra screens are running on the work setup or not.

Will that work or have I missed something important?

The only issue I can think is that my personal PC hates it when I switch the main windows display, every so often it starts to it hoards every window off every monitor and every virtual desktop on the one screen when you switch back to it, so I've got it set with the main screen on one of the secondary monitors. I can live with that.

Thanks!
