I have been with Vodafone for personal & business for a long time now, to the extent on my personal I am on a 51% discount.

I rang up to renew, expecting to just continue it, with a new phone etc - only to be told instantly the best they could do was 30% and that was that!

Has anyone else come across this? I would say now more then ever retaining customers & people cutting back would have them improving deals, let alone knocking them off?

Thanks,

Phleaser

You can text them to get your PAC number, to switch networks. They were pretty quick to call me to discuss why I'm leaving (I still left!)

Text PAC to 65075 on most networks.

I think I'm on about 30% discount. After trying to get a good deal at last upgrade, they were still too much compared to EE (like for like). I asked for my PAC code, then got a call within about 48 hours with a better deal which I took.

Just to add an update, had an upgrade last week. I wasn't expecting it until mid July but option to upgrade for free came up on My Vodafone app.

Wanted a price on Google Pixel 4. Online/upgrade on the app deal:

Phone cost - £29 / Tariff £46 (unlimited data 10mb speed limited, unlimited calls/texts)

Called up to see if they could do any better:

Phone cost - nil / Tariff £39.10 (same as above - 15% discount)

Thought I'd try and push it a bit more so said I'd think about it. Requested my PAC code via text. Next day, speak with a retentions and better deal:

Phone cost - nil / Tariff £36.80 (same as above - 20% discount)

If you don't need to do an upgrade there and then, there is definitely room for discount. Was happy with the deal so didn't try and push for any more, given the low initial tariff cost.

50% sim only and 20/30% with phone (depending on phone) is about as good as it gets from my experience.
I’ve been with Vodafone for 20 years now, so have done a fair few upgrades. I basically end up paying the cost of the phone divided by 18/24 plus £15-18 per month for unlimited everything.
