I’ve been having a lot of issues with the internet recently, it’s either been down to an unusable 0.1mbs or doesn’t work at all or is running normally.
It’s been on and off for around 2 weeks now, plusnet are sending someone out in a few days to check out the issue but the very odd thing for me being that every time I ring them up it starts working again, so much so that now when it goes down I just dial plusnet on the house phone and the internet starts working again and then I can hang up, very odd, assume it’s some strange issue with the phone line?

Just it get better as soon as you pick up the phone a get a dial tone?

If yes, your splitter is knackered.

Even with that knowledge will the ISP manage to come to the same conclusion within a month or two as they rarely listen to
the customer.
I had some wires dangling by a thread on my roof and told talktalk this was the cause of line drop outs and it took
several months before eventually they passed it to BT. Naturally left the clowns as soon as the contract expired and
had a spell at BT to cut out the middleman.
Hopefully you have a spare splitter from a past modem delivery.

Well well well identical problem here at mine.Middle light out on modem so I ring Sky and they do a line test and immediately all 3 lights are green, happy days I think but short lived as 24 hrs later same happens.Second sky call light comes on again but this time they advise a BT engineers comes to have a look.He said routers knackered so orders new one.Plug router in,all fine for 48 hrs then middle light goes again.Rinse and repeat 3 times in 3 weeks 3 different BT chaps visit and diagnose different things from sommat at street box to faulty copper section on poles to faulty wire from router to socket.Tonight same again BT coming on 1st July, not holding my breathe.

If only I could get a signal for TV via satellite or aerial but alas too much tree cover so dependant on broadband for work, rest and play.
