Disabling keyboard on laptop in Windows 10
Discussion
Hi,
I have a laptop which is used kind of like a media server hooked up to a TV, and I use a Bluetooth keyboard to control it, so no need for the built in keyboard to work. Normally, it's not a problem, but it has recently decided that the / key is intermittently stuck on, which soon becomes quite tiresome
I've gone into device manager > keyboards and uninstalled and deleted the drivers for the keyboard (or at least it's the only thing listed under keyboards if I remove my Bluetooth one) but when I reboot the computer the keyboard works.....that said, under the keyboards section the only thing listed was something like "keyboard filter".... So I'm not sure.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Haven't tried it but could you not download https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051843/a... and then assign the misbehaving key to nothing (and assign its function to another key)?

In the searchbox on the main taskbar, type bluetooth, you should see a list with "bluetooth and other devices settings". Hit that..
you should see a list of all bluetooth paired devices.
Find the keyboard, click on it, and hit "remove device"
No, it's the Bluetooth one I want to keep, but the built-in keyboard I want to remove you should see a list of all bluetooth paired devices.
Find the keyboard, click on it, and hit "remove device"

Unfortunately this says no Microsoft keyboard detected! randlemarcus said:
Either try not to reboot that often, and delete it everytime you do
Or, try disable, and see if that survives a reboot.
The disable option is greyed out so I can't do that, and even if I don't reboot the keyboard is still active
Or, try disable, and see if that survives a reboot.
very strange. It seems like it won't let me disable it?! Thanks for your input, any other thoughts?

Pry the offending key off, very gently, blow some air where it used to be, and reseat the key (again, stupidly gently).
Physically disconnecting the keyboard will probably end badly.
